Inside a house in Manhattan Chinatown, a ballad of hope echoes.

From a skyline that still bore the Twin Towers, through the fever manhattan “Make America Great Again,” and toward a future torn by civil war, countless lives alight here. Over three generations and seventy years, they arrive with their stories, pursuits and prejudices, crafting lives of their choosing and reaching for a perfect world.

Following Flowing Warblers, On & On Theatre Workshop presents another sweeping saga. Golden Horse Awards Best Adapted Screenplay laureate Jun Li ventures onto the stage, joining directors Wong Hin-yan and Santayana Li to forge In a Perfect World. Nine performers embody a gallery of souls, giving voice to ideals and convictions amid an ever-shifting social landscape—even when the world remains unresolved, the pulse of hope persists.
